Questions I Would Like Answers To...Secrets of Blogging?

1. Why, when I hit "next blog" is there a theme. Sometimes all I can get are blogs about Cancer, another time all about new babies, another time is all blogs about computer programming, then the other day, living life as a gay person... ?

2. Why can I not search out blogs? i.e. Why is there not a search bar to search all blogs on blogger.com, so that I can type in a topic and find blogs that are related to my search only?

3. Is there some kind of blogger etiquette? As an example if I follow you do you have to follow me too? Should I be following everyone who follows me (not that it matters to me if you follow me or not, but it is kind of a nice feeling when someone takes the minute to 'follow' and let the world know I am worth stopping on for a minute!) Also, how do people become blogs of note? Can I nominate you somehow if I like your blog? There are some fab ones on here I love.

4. Besides commenting on someone's blog, is there another way to reach them such as sending them a message? i.e. How do I tell Capt. J's wife I love her blog where there are no places to leave a comment?!?! Capt J's wife, in case you stop by, I like your blog! Cute kid too!

5. What other blogging things are there that I don't even know that I don't know? Like Adsense- I am not in this to make money but is it worth the effort to throw up some ads? Does anyone actually make a little extra change here and there for having them?

Some feedback would be fab-tabulous.

  1. I have the exact same questions. I would love a search bar to write in a theme for a blog and get them. Or why are there themes? Is it something in my latest post that triggers it?

  2. I do adsense, but I keep it very non-obtrusive on my blog. I earn about $100 per year from it. I'm not into blogging to make money though, so I could honestly take it or leave it.

  3. Sometimes I follow people who follow me. Sometimes I don't. It just depends on my mood for the day.
