I have been planning my wedding for the last few weeks (which was hard without a computer – I know, How did we survive before computers) and am actually quite proud of myself for what has been accomplished for not having a computer to work with.
1. Bought the dress
2. Notified the bridal party
3. Booked the church
4. Picked the bridesmaids gowns (see below)
5. Bought my invitations
6. Finalized my guest list
7. Made a list of mailing addresses for the list
8. Narrowed my venue down to a choice between one or two places
9. Made plans to meet with my caterer of choice / DJ of choice / Photographer of choice
10. Sent out a list of possible dates for the Stag and Doe
So yes, I am getting married July 30th of this summer.
I won’t show you the wedding dress, because I know James takes a peek at my blog on occasion but here are the bridesmaid’s dresses (yellow one on the right):

My colour theme is Orange and Yellow. The dress will be worn along with a white and pastel orange (like a tangerine or sorbet) pashmina or wrap. I am sending my father – in – law to be to hunt them down in china (where he regularly flies) for a decent price.
I am hoping to get the girls (I have 6 bridesmaids including my maid or honour) orange bouquets of carnations and centerpieces to match that look something like this:

And would like my bouquet to be a combo between the two.
So all in all I am hoping for a classy affair.
I hope I am not way off in my trends. I mean, I have seen things like this:

And she isn’t the only one with this look in mind, there is this nipptacular number:

And if that’s the look then if I were a bridesmaid I might wear something like this:

Unless they are serving a menue of Weetabix, Prunes, Metamusil and Laxitives, then I could see the benefit to being in a dress like this:

I suppose it's always nice to be at an event where a gentleman knows when to lend a lady a hand ...
Just my two cents….

Congratulations on your engagement! Wonderful news. And I'm also very very impressed with your planning... We had two years to plan ours, and I felt like we needed it! Well done you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I love the color combinations.
ReplyDeleteThe two women in the niptacular photos seem to each have their own pair of bridesmaids that steal the show. No need for others.
Congrats!! I don't even know you but I know how completely exciting it is to get engaged and start planning your wedding (mine is Aug 28 this year). Love the colors!
